What ever happened to the euro vision?
What a bloody racket! I remember my mum giving me an old transistor radio to listen to it the year Cliff Richards represented us – I’ve just googled it – 1973 ‘power to all our friends’ I listened transfixed as the scores came in – think it wasn’t much longer after that, that I became hooked on Radio 4’s shipping forecast!
Oh well maybe it’s just me that’s out grown the euro vision!
PS: Oooooo I actually like the Iceland entry!

Oh well there's always next year and I just hope Icelands song becomes a dance tune in our charts
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only person in the world obsessed by the Shipping Forecast! I actually love it. My boyfriends thinks it's the repetitive rythym that I like? I have no idea, but I feel less insane knowing someone else is as odd as me.

After confessing my love of the shipping forcast to a tutor he told me I like it because it's like poetry! I love 'sailing by' I even made my own words up to sing along to it with (how sad haha) My little boats get tossed about in the rough sea as the music gets faster haha but then comes home safely at the end when the music fades.
My late husband even bought me an 'area' tea cloth so I knew where every where was hehe!
Guess I'm a 'shipping forcast geek'
